Environment Minister to rule this week on Gorgon Gas Project

Australian Environment Minister Peter Garrett will rule this week on whether the $50 billion Gorgon Gas Project will go ahead.
The minister is currently deliberating over the project, torn between the massive economic benefits the project will give to Australia and the protection of several endangered species in the Gorgon Gas Project area.

The project is widely expected to get the go ahead with the Federal Energy and Resources Minister Martin Ferguson commenting recently that "There is no way the environment is at risk".
Today the Environmental Minister said that the oil spill off the WA coast will have no impact on his decision on Gorgon.
